Baidu Doodle and SERP for the Winter Olympics in Beijing
Today, 4th of February 2022 the Winter Olympics in Beijing are started and Baidu honours this event with a special Doodle showing a slalom skiing athlete shooting through “Bai” and “百度”. In the right bottom corner there is a small play button, which doesn’t have special function but on click leads to the SERP for “北京冬奥会” (Pinyin: Běijīng dōng ào huì; English: Beijing Winter Olympics).
But instead of a regular SERP, the user gets to see a special designed Beijing Winter Olympics news dashboard:
But when further scrolling down, you will get the regular search results – paid and organic:
On the lefthand side the first snippet is the official Beijing Olympic Winter Games website (which can be easily recognised by the dark blue “官方” icon at the right side of the snippet title) and second snippet are organic results, the third snippet is an add (which can be easily recognised by the “广告” in light blue), followed by Video SERP feature.
