Baidu Algorithm Update: Trade Wind
Recently, Baidu search technology team found that some websites use page-turning buttons to induce users, which greatly damaged the user’s browsing experience. In response to such problems, trade wind algorithms are about to go online, and there will be a severe crackdown on problematic sites.
The trade wind algorithm is mainly aimed at the following situations:
When the user clicks the page turning button, it will automatically jump to other channel pages of the website (such as directory pages, off-site advertising pages, etc.).
Example 1: On the mobile terminal, the user clicks “Next Page” to jump directly to the directory page of the channel in the station.
Example 2: On the PC side, the user clicks “Next Page” to jump directly to the in-station channel directory page.
For such problems, we suggest:
- Don’t place false page turning buttons. If you want to get more user browsing and clicks, you can recommend relevant high-quality content to users at the end of the text to attract users to click.
- Respect the user browsing experience and avoid deliberately splitting a short article into multiple paging.
