Baidu Algorithm Update: Beacon X.0
Recently, Baidu Search received complaints from users about the invalidity of the return to previous site buttons on the browser when visiting certain websites. In order to ensure the user’s search experience, the Beacon Algorithm will be upgraded in the near future, expanding the coverage and increasing the control for the failure of the “go back” button.
After users enter the website page through Baidu search, they often use the “go back” button when completing reading in order to leave the page. The failure of the go-back-function of the browser will lead to the following situations:
1. The user can’t go back by clicking the go-back button, the page has no response, and the content has not changed. The user will be trapped in the site all the time until the browser tab or the browser gets shut down.
2. After the user clicks the back button, the page jumps to the homepage or list page of the website, rather than the upper page browsed by the user.
3. After the user clicks the rollback button, the page jumps to pornographic, cheating, advertising and other low-quality pages that the user has not visited before.
Example of invalid go-back button case:

After the user clicks the go-back button, the page jumps to the red envelope activity page that the user has not visited.
In addition, Baidu Search found that some sites failed the go-back button function due to abnormal third-party code on the page or improper operation by developers in the monitoring. Developers are also asked to conduct self-inspection according to the “Guidelines for Website Hijacking Problem Isolation” to avoid the site being overwritten by algorithms due to misoperation.
